Avians Foundation is a web3 non-profit organization dedicated to bird conservation. Our mission is to save birds and their habitats by enabling and incentivizing participation in bird conservation through fundraising, grant making, community building, and conservation advocacy. Funds are raised through sales of digital collectibles and artwork primarily focused on birds. Owners of Avians NFTs will be entitled to participate in voting on how grants are awarded to projects dedicated to bird conservation.
Alpha Avians of America
Our first NFT collection, Alpha Avians of America, is based on the 435 plates in John J. Audubon’s groundbreaking nineteenth-century book, “The Birds of America.” Each NFT includes a color-coded strip along its bottom edge that encodes for four properties: 1) edition number, 2) the bird’s IUCN conservation status, 3) its migration characteristics, and 4) its IUCN population trend status.
